But in Japan April is the month of hanami (flower viewing) because sakura blooms beautifully now. I myself really like to create those heart shaped petals of those flowers. :) Now to show you some of my works ^^
And while the convent I was two weeks ago somewhere else was really chilled out if it comes to my kimono lecture and dress up show in a small classroom and with not that many people, this weekend I was stunned. I was one of the representatives of my Japanese language school Matsumi, we had few lectures through the day on different interesting topics and I again about kimono :)
This was a surprise- big, even very big for my standard room for shows- with the stage, catwalk and it was dark with the lights set only on the stage. When we were preparing TV representative asked how it will look like and if they will be able to film the part when we will be dressing in kimono. I don't have to tell how stressed I was for the first part of my lecture? ^^; But it went well- afterwards I asked few of my friends who were there for some critique words and now I know what to do better next time :) (less stressing out for sure! XD)

Now the photos! I had only few made with my camera, most of them were made by my teacher with hers, so I will have to wait for the next time I will see her to get them. :)

I decided to take over the world ]:-> Lol

As we had a small family party I decided to dress up all in pink (and a bit of red ;) ) for this "red" holiday (every shop in my town is dressed up in red)

I really can't get to cooperate with this obi- it isn't very stiff and the brocade makes it difficult to to tie. The kimono is my love- even if I didn't like it that much when I was buying it at the beginning- I lost few kimono auctions and I became a bit desperate to win something at last and this was the perfect size and well... Though I don't hate pink it isn't my favorite either, but I got it as a small revenge XD

Anyway: here are the photos :)

It's one of my favourite designs and I come back to it very often. I think that the first maiko kanzashi I fell in love with was February ume design. It's in light shade of pink, white or red with lots of small buds all around and brown or golden branches.
